Production Update

So, last week a case of the flu had me temporarily joining the ranks of the undead and unable to post an update. Back at full strength this week and here's where we are at with the project:

We're still waiting on a production sample back from Wingo Games in China for some of the components which we are expecting to take delivery of very soon. As soon as they arrive i'll post pics.

Our sculptor Iain has finished the three "roamer"  zombies and is currently hard at work on the stretch goal heroes (Amy, Pacifist, Felice & Vlad)

In relation to "the pacifist" we finally reached an equipment & mechanics set that we are happy with for him. He can "stun" enemies for a 2 turn knockdown with either his staff or a stun grenade & he can also throw flares which act as a distraction to any enemies in line of sight. In test games he's proving to be a great support character.

Those of you on Facebook can check out another (longer) battle report from the issue 2 mission "house party"  This is one of my favorite missions with some interesting tower defense type mechanics. We also added a 3D rotating barricade to the issue 2 terrain set DLC.

In other news we have added "Tees Con" to our event diary this year so anyone close enough can come and jump into a game.

Production Update

So now we have all of the metal (excluding the stretch goals and add ons) now cast & ready for QC and packing...

The first test shots of resin are now done for the Issue 1 & 2 stuff, we have a few tweaks to make for the final production molds but overall we're really happy with how they're coming out.

And here we have the full six figure zombie horde (with the additional 3 sculpts from the stretch goal).

For those of you on Facebook we have a battle report with pictures using the now (very nearly) finished 3D terrain pieces here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1042682422451559.1073741832.157941300925680&type=3

for those of you that do not here's a couple of shots of the terrain & dividers on the table:

 That's all for now!

Production Update (slight) Delay

Hey guys and girls, firstly I would like to apologize for the lack of recent updates, we've had a situation (mainly due to xmas holidays) where we've been waiting on various things then everything has happened at once which has led to an insanely busy few weeks. We are now on the front foot so updates will be coming thick and fast as of now.

So, as you may know, our intention with Z War was for the game to be made in it's entirety here in the UK. Unfortunately between the time of initial quotes & the end of the Kickstarter the UK based company which we were planning on using for some of the game's parts are unable to take the order, which has left us in a bit of a predicament.

After weeks of searching for a competitively priced alternative UK supplier we have been unable to find a suitable replacement. As a result of this some of the game's components are now being manufactured by Wingo Games in China. We are assured that the quality of these components will be top notch and as soon as samples are received we will post pictures in an update. As ever, we are dedicated to providing the highest possible quality finished product and everything that can be done to ensure this will be done.

So what does this mean in terms of delivery? Basically, switching some of the production to China should only cause a 1 month delay so shipping should now be around the end of April. It is an unfortunate, yet unavoidable set back for which we are very sorry.

Now for the good news! As some of you may have seen we are now including a full downloadable "print & play" 3D terrain set for free on the z war website. It will be available around the time of launch and I will be posting pictures of the final versions in an update very soon. Feedback from the few people that have had a chance to play the game with the new terrain has been very good, with the general feeling that it adds yet another layer to an already immersive experience.

In other news, our first shipment of metal has arrived (issue 1 heroes & first 3 zombie sculpts) with another delivery due today (issue 2 + the 3 new zombie sculpts) so i'll post a pic of the full set (minus stretch goals) as soon as they arrive.

 Thanks

Rob

A Christmas Gift

So, this week we've been hard at work on a top secret project which you will be seeing at conventions throughout 2016. As a bi product of this however we have ended up with some funky little papercraft terrain pieces which coincidentally fit exactly over the various buildings on the Z War One board...

As it's Chiristmas we thought that it would be a cool idea to make these a free download on the Z War website so that those wishing to add a little a little extra glitz to their Z War games may do so. I'll be posting pictures of them in use on the board next week but in the meantime here's a WIP preview.

Chapter 4 - The Horde (preview)

So to show the way that the whole "comic book transitioning into game play" works, we have a little preview from issue 1, it's chapter 4, so around the mid point of the issue where things start to get pretty tough.

The full .pdf file can be viewed or downloaded here

In "The Horde" the heroes are tasked with collecting plank tokens from around the board to secure all the entry points to the building. The faster they can board up the entry points the quicker the spawning rate starts to fall.
